Lourdes Monroy Quinteros

I was born in Lima in 1968, to migrant parents from the Andes of Peru. From an early age, I developed a deep sense of social and humanistic commitment, which led me to study Psychology and Education at the National University of San Marcos, the E. Guzmán y Valle National University, and the Pedro Ruiz Gallo National University.

I am the co-creator of the Taki Institute and Museum of Andean and Amazonian Musical Instruments, directed by Kike Pinto Cárdenas in Cusco, and co-founder and primary school teacher at the Wiñaypaq School of Intercultural Education, also in Cusco.
Additionally, I completed training as a Waldorf Pedagogy teacher with Else Slagebro (Denmark) and pursued various pedagogical studies in Peru and other countries, working in schools in both Cusco and Lima over the years.

My life’s passion is educating boys and girls, along with their families, through a holistic and intercultural approach. I strive to connect them with nature, art, and science while honoring the rich cultural traditions and realities of my country. One of my specialties is crafts, and I create educational toys made from natural and eco-friendly materials for children.

I am the founder and current teacher of the Willka Nina School, which envisions integrating harmonious education with the ancestral knowledge of my culture — a culture shared by many migrants in Lima. I firmly believe that by instilling a love for nature in children and fostering awareness in their families through the ancestral wisdom of Peru’s indigenous cultures, we can protect life and contribute to a more harmonious world.
